As 2025 comes to a close, we’re reflecting on the incredible milestones that shaped this year. From giving back to growing our footprint, here’s a look at what made 2025 so special.
Giving Back
Our commitment to community remained front and center in 2025. Through our Spirit Card Program, we donated $57,754 to local schools, helping fund everything from classroom tools to extracurricular activities. Over the past 13 years, this program has contributed an amazing $327,023 to schools across our footprint.
We also continued to invest in the future through our annual scholarship program, awarding 33 scholarships to graduating seniors pursuing higher education. These students represent the next generation of leaders, and we’re proud to support their journey.
Community Impact
This year, we raised a glass to community with the launch of American Gold, a custom golden ale brewed in partnership with Woodgrain Brewery. For every beer sold, $1 was donated to Sioux Falls CASA, helping advocate for children in need.
We were proud to sponsor events that empower and celebrate leadership, including:

- SDBA Women in Banking – Lead Strong (Platinum Sponsor)
These events highlight the incredible contributions of women in finance and leadership. Congratulations to all honorees and nominees — and a special shoutout to:
- Melissa Fossell, nominated for the Women of Impact Award at SDBA’s Lead Strong event.
We also had the honor of attending The EMBES – A Tribute to Women, celebrating 74 incredible individuals making a difference in our community. We were especially proud to cheer on two AB&T team members who were nominated for this meaningful recognition. Their leadership, dedication, and impact reflect the very best of who we are as an organization.
Finally, we’re thrilled to share that the American Bank & Trust team in Huron was nominated for the Empowering SHE Award, which honors businesses that champion the growth and success of women through mentorship, training, and development. This recognition speaks to the values we live every day.
Growth & Expansion
2025 was a year of exciting growth!
- In June, we celebrated the Grand Opening of our new Tea, SD branch with a weeklong event full of giveaways, extended hours, and community fun.
- In August, we opened our newest Sioux Falls location at 26th Street & Tea/Ellis Road, marking another milestone in our commitment to serving this vibrant city.
With these additions, American Bank & Trust now proudly serves customers across 20 branches in South Dakota, Minnesota, and North Dakota.
Our People
This year, we welcomed 50 new team members and celebrated 30 promotions across our footprint. Our people are the heart of AB&T, and their dedication continues to drive our success. We’re proud of the incredible talent and leadership that make our mission possible every day.
