At American Bank & Trust, we believe in growing leaders from within – and today, we’re proud to celebrate one of our own. Blake, who has served as Market President in Wessington Springs since 2019, has now been promoted to also lead our Stickney market. This expansion is a testament to his dedication, expertise, and commitment to the communities we serve.

A Career Built on Hard Work and Community

Blake’s journey in banking began after graduating from South Dakota State University in 2015 with a degree in Agricultural Business and a minor in Accounting. Before joining AB&T, he worked as an Ag Credit Analyst and Lender at FNBSF, gaining valuable experience in agricultural lending and financial analysis. In 2019, Blake joined American Bank & Trust as Market President in Wessington Springs – and he’s been making an impact ever since.

“My favorite part of being a Market President is the relationships built in helping my customers and my community achieve their financial goals,” Blake shares. His passion for building strong connections is at the heart of his leadership style.

Deep Roots in South Dakota

Born and raised in Wessington Springs, Blake’s connection to the community runs deep. He even interned at AB&T Wessington Springs while in college, giving him firsthand insight into the values and culture that make our bank unique. His commitment to helping customers succeed is matched only by his dedication to supporting local growth and prosperity.

Community Involvement That Makes a Difference

Blake doesn’t just work in the community – he serves it. He’s a volunteer firefighter, sits on multiple boards including the Springs Country Club, Jerauld County Ambulance, and Community Counseling Services, and lends his time to youth programs and conservation efforts. His leadership extends beyond banking, making him a true advocate for the people and places he calls home.

“Giving back to the communities we serve is critical to the success of American Bank & Trust. When the communities we serve can thrive, American Bank & Trust is able to thrive as well. As a community banker, I am honored to have a small part in making my community thrive.”
